Objective: I was in charge of designing a library of animations for our smart speaker ecosystem. I owned the database of animations and was responsible for adding new behaviors for new use cases. I designed across multiple products including the Bose Home Speaker 500, the Portable Home Speaker, and the Bose Soundbars.
Each animation corresponds to a different speaker behavior. Overall, I designed 18 different animations for Bose-agnostic behaviors, including for OOB (Out-of-Box)/Setup, Volume, and Wi-Fi Connection. Additionally, as we worked with Amazon and Google to add personal Voice Assistants to our speakers, I designed Bose VPA behaviors that aligned with existing Alexa and Google Home animations. In total, 8 speakers and soundbars launched with a light bar during my tenure at Bose.
